On Thursday 20th March, a week after the inaugural meeting of Sherwood U3A, 21 members took part in a walk in Sherwood Forest.  The intention was to offer the three categories of walks. The 'Strollers' led by Geoff Davies did approximately 2 miles; Peter Thurkettle led the main walking group which did 7 miles and Sylvia Slack led the 'Intermediate' group doing approximately 4 miles.
Unfortunately we only had 2 members taking part in the Strollers and the main walking group. Therefore, shall we say that the 'Intermediate' group were the winners in that they will now form a viable walking group for Sherwood with a volunteer leader named Norman Windsor. Whether, in the future, the walkers wish to extend the range of walks is entirely up to the demands of the membership and the person/s willing to take on the leadership.
Thank you to those that took part and good luck for the future.
Peter Thurkettle Secretary - Sherwood Steering Committee
